When you become a member of The ARC of Essex County, you also become a member of the state and national organizations. In addition to helping ensure the success of our local programs, your support through membership provides many other benefits as well.

Monitor national progress in the areas of inclusion in education, employment, community living and recreation
- Conduct a national public awareness and education campaign on the prevention of developmental disabilities to include Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and alcohol-related birth defects
- Promote the research necessary to help children and adults with developmental disabilities
- Pioneer innovative programs and services to meet the changing needs of people with developmental disabilities and their families
- Encourage progressive local, state and national government policy
- Inform more people of the needs and potential of people with developmental disabilities
- Develop employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities
