This year, The Arc of Essex County Golf Classic was held on September 26, 2011 at the Rock Spring Club in West Orange, New Jersey. The sun was shining for the golfers and it turned out to be perfect day for golf. The golfers enjoyed an afternoon of golf in the beautiful surroundings of Rock Spring. Early arrivals had a chance to practice before enjoying lunch, and then head out to the golf course. After golf it was time to enjoy the cocktail/dinner buffet overflowing with the Rock Spring Club’s famous seafood. During the evening, there were opportunities to buy raffle tickets, bid on silent auction items and participate in a sealed-bid auction. At the end of the evening was the drawing for the winners of The Candle Lighters off premise fair share raffle.

It takes many hands and much planning to bring about an event like this. Thanks go to our wonderful volunteers who helped on and off the golf course the day of the event. Many of them return every year to help, and their commitment is appreciated. We were fortunate to have generous donors who gave us our raffle and auction items, which added to the fun and excitement of the evening. Over 80 individuals and businesses were sponsors at levels from $100 to $5,000. Their financial support helped make the day a success. The enthusiasm of the golfers who participated was a pleasure to see. Many have been part of the Golf Classic Tournament for much of its twenty-three year history, and their support is appreciated. We are very grateful to those individuals who participated, supported, volunteered and contributed to make this 23rd annual Golf Classic a success. We hope to see you next year at our Golf Classic!
