Adult Day & Employment Services

The ARC’s adult day programs offer a variety
of means for consumers to reach their greatest potential. Consumers thrive
in a variety of environments in which their experiences are expanded,
relationships are cultivated and abilities enhanced. As a result, more and
more individuals who have developmental disabilities are living fulfilling
lives through contribution to their communities.

Community Resource
Centers
Our resource centers provide community-based
experiences for our consumers. Participants are provided with a variety
of volunteer, educational and recreational activities on a daily basis.
Our consumers volunteer at a local food bank, a soup kitchen and they
deliver groceries for the food pantry. Other activities include art
classes, cooking, yoga, bowling, and patronizing local business
establishments. All of these activities are offered to provide meaningful
community participation or personal growth experiences. In addition, a
specialized senior program promotes memory strengthening skills, and
offers pet therapy and an adaptive exercise program.
Employment Programs
The ARC Business Alliance (ABA) is our
supported employment program. Here consumers work independently in
community businesses with the support of our employment-training
specialists. Many consumers have been successfully employed at many
well-known area businesses, including car dealers, fast food restaurants,
hotels and retail stores. Recently, ABA has become involved with local
school districts, providing transition services. ABA is also available for
consultation work, including vocational profiling and assessment.
Supported Work
Opportunities Program
The Supported Work Opportunities Program
offers consumers the opportunity to work as part of a crew or enclave.
Accompanied by an employment counselor, small groups of consumers provide
landscaping and cleaning.
ARCompany
ARCompany is a sheltered workshop that
offers consumers the ability to earn an income by completing contract
work. The workshop performs a variety of sub-contract work, such as
packaging, collating and light assembly. The consumers take pride in their
work and in receiving their paychecks.
